Die-sinking EDM is a process of electrical discharge machining. Sparks are generated by an electrode on the workpiece to be machined. The electrode has the negative shape of the workpiece surface to be created. This can also be used to create so-called blind holes, or if it is not possible to start at the edge during wire EDM, a starting hole can be created with the aid of die-sinking EDM. If the tool is guided in xy-direction, paths can be realized or undercuts can be made.
