Description
Patended Gammaphase wire electrode Hybrid Puma with Cracking Surface 500 or 900 N/mm²
The “Puma” among the erosion wires – differs from conventional coated products by the composition of the wire surface: In contrast to zinc-coated wire electrodes, Hybrid Puma has an “alloy” with a higher zinc than copper content, which is applied to brass core wires by diffusion annealing.
This creates the unique patented cracking surface for optimum rinsing performance. This makes Hybrid Puma the perfect combination of very high cutting performance potential with very high accuracy and very good surfaces.
Compared to conventional coated wire, the Puma wire convinces with up to 40% more speed.
EU-Patent: 0930131
Core material: CuZn 35
Cover material: CuZn with increased Zn content
Advantage Hybrid Puma:
-
- Very good and high abrasion resistance
- Excellent cutting accuracy
- High process reliability
- Up to 40 % higher cutting speeds compared to bare wire
- Ideal for automatic threading
- cracking surface
Increased tensile strength due to rapid cooling
Cracking wires with pores on the surface contact more cooling water due to their enlarged
surface area and cool down faster than the existing non-porous wires.
This allows cracking wires much faster cutting speed.
The available diameters, tensile strengths and bobbin sizes are shown in the following table.
